The article pointed out that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor started construction in 2013. In 2015, the two countries established a "1+4" cooperation layout with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as the center and Gwadar Port, transportation infrastructure, energy, and industrial cooperation as the four key areas.

As of the end of 2022, China's investment in corridor-related projects has exceeded US$25 billion, created 236,000 jobs, and built 13 power generation projects with a total installed capacity of 8,020 MW and a 4,000 MW high-voltage DC transmission line. . Today, Pakistan's transportation infrastructure has improved significantly, including major roads, ports, and the Orange Line, a rail transit system in Lahore.

As the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor moves towards an "upgraded version", the focus of China-Pakistan cooperation is expected to expand from infrastructure to industry, agriculture, social economy and information technology.

Secondly, it is imperative to prioritize. Rather than spreading resources across multiple areas, focus on projects that will generate immediate benefits. If we are to achieve major goals such as industrial cooperation and job creation, we need real investment and incentives.

Furthermore, capacity building is a top priority. Pakistan's industrial base is weak and its labor force lacks skills. To implement the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor construction goals, we need to promote vocational training, technology transfer and capacity improvement. Just relying on China is not enough, Pakistan needs to be self-reliant.

Finally, there is an urgent need to address security issues. The situation in Balochistan will not improve overnight. Pakistan should take comprehensive measures, not just deploy more troops. Engaging with local communities, addressing their concerns, and making them stakeholders is the key to ensuring long-term progress of the project. At the same time, refuting remarks with ulterior motives and taking advantage of cultural exchanges are crucial to maintaining development momentum and gaining the trust of local people.
